Once upon a time a woman named Leslie Blodgett dreamed of discovering a makeup so pure you could sleep in it. She wanted a healthy makeup that would be free of all preservatives, chemicals and fragrance, and would help improve and protect skin, while looking flawless. Her dream came true when she found 100% pure bareMinerals®—a makeup that caused a revolution in the makeup industry. Soon it became the leading mineral makeup brand. Leslie's beauty know-how comes from 23 years of education and experience. Since the age of 12, she's been breaking rules, like sneaking out with makeup on regardless of her mother's disapproval. In 1994, she became CEO of Bare Escentuals and set out on an unforgettable journey to bring the products she loves into the hearts and homes of women everywhere. Her passion comes from a dedication to making women feel beautiful, inside and out.

Leslie launched the bareMinerals line of cosmetics in 1995, and then introduced Bare Escentuals on QVC in 1997, garnering a huge base of loyal customers. She continues to wow fans today with the latest in all-natural beauty products. She understands that women want more than pretty, and her TV appearances convey this awareness. Under Leslie's care and direction, the tremendous growth of Bare Escentuals is a compelling testimony of the revolutionary product line and her commitment to it. Her visionary ideas for the company and the personal relationships with her customers that she cultivates and values so highly make Leslie, in a word, legendary.

When Leslie is not appearing on TV, developing a new product line, or traveling to events, she cherishes her home life with husband, Keith (who gives 100% as a stay-at-home dad), teenage son, Trent, and their dog, Kiko. Leslie has tremendous admiration for her mother, who was a single mom, and draws inspiration from a beautiful picture of her grandmother, circa 1930s. Over the years, Leslie has collected countless photographs, tips and inspirational messages sent to her by Bare Escentuals customers.

As CEO, Leslie is committed to her customers, first and foremost. The cornerstone of her marketing campaign is a desire to be approachable. Leslie often sends personal responses to e-mails and has been known to call customers to get their input. Leslie strives to incorporate a personal touch into everything she does, to be true to the customers who have made Bare Escentuals what it is today, and to be passionate, genuine and loyal.

Leslie has turned to her customers time and time again to keep her finger on the pulse of what women want. She recently went on a cruise with some of Bare Escentuals' loyal fans—an idea that won her the coveted WWD BEAUTYBIZ "Most Innovative Marketer Award." She also holds beauty seminars to learn customer tips and techniques and regularly names shades after real customers. Leslie is creative, untraditional
and innovative.
