The Original Matte Loose Powder Foundation is the very first Bare Minerals product I began to use many years ago, back when Leslie Blodgett was doing her great TV infomercials. I have found nothing else that even comes remotely close to the comfort and quality of this product. This foundation is light, but blends and covers well. I wear it all day without touch-ups. In the sun, the SPF factor keeps me from getting sunburned anywhere I've place it. This is especially important to me, as I am allergic to most sunscreens.

The little tab that covers the holes is very hard to pull off, also it was difficult to figure out what needs to be done to cover up this hole. The product itself is good so far, it blends well without the flaking that usually happens when I use powders, and is the best powder I've found so far that works for me.

This has always been my go-to foundation. It looks flawless when I first apply it. However, it looks really heavy after a few hours. I always have to blot it midway through the day. I don't have to do this with other foundations.

Totally fair feedback, and you’re not imagining it; what you’re describing usually comes down to skin prep and oil breakthrough over time, which can happen with most foundations, even favorites.
Good skin prep makes a big difference with this formula. Making sure skin is well-hydrated and using a primer that suits your skin type (especially one that helps balance oil) can help the foundation wear more evenly and prevent it from looking heavy as the day goes on. Letting skincare fully absorb before application also helps keep the base from breaking down.
Blotting or doing light touch-ups midday is actually very normal even with with long wear powder foundations, especially if your skin produces oil. Removing excess oil with blotting papers before re-setting lightly with a pressed or loose setting powder (rather than adding more product) helps keep the finish looking fresh instead of built up.
If you ever want help dialing in prep or application for your skin type, a quick tweak in primer or setting technique can make a noticeable difference.
